DSPS
Membership benefits
the entire local art community-- not just one member. As
long as DSPS continues to thrive, up-and-coming artists who join DSPS
are provided a collection of advantages they cannot find elsewhere.
Friendship and classes . . .
DSPS Member
Meetings --
just one type of social occasions where artists have the opportunity
to socialize -- are held monthly in
the Spring and Fall, providing speakers, demonstrations and art discussions.
With prior arrangement, members may display their work, asking for
feedback during the break following a speaker presentation. This fall
our meetings will be held at the 48 High Street Gallery in St. Anne's
Hill (except for September 2010, when they'll be held at the Patterson
House on Brown Street in Oakwood).
For
decades, the attractive and historic 48
High Street Gallery, owned by DSPS, has provided artists
a location where their work may be exhibited
for a fraction of the cost charged by other venues. Members may rent
a week's worth of gallery time at The 48 High Street Gallery to display
their work for a total cost of $35. A large parking lot with no-cost
parking is available to visitors of gallery, which is air conditioned
and elegantly maintained.
No commission is ever charged by DSPS to members
who display their works at any of the locations DSPS provides, including
our Online Gallery.
